The second annual farm to table event is right around the corner, bringing downtown Winchester to life with an intimate setting and cultivating a healthy community by promoting locally grown food.
Winchester Downtown Program Director Abby Pickett said the Farm to Table event, set for Saturday, Aug 1 from 6-9 p.m. on the Winchester Square, helps support Winchester and Franklin County farms as well as the growth of the square.
“It’s all about the food; we are working toward promoting downtown, healthy lifestyles and encouraging local farms and shopping,” she said.
Catered gourmet meal
The gourmet dinner menu will be created around locally sourced ingredients and catered by IvyWild Restaurant.
Keri Moser, owner and chef at IvyWild in Sewanee has been named a rising star by “StarChefs,” a magazine for culinary insiders.
In its recent survey of culinary professionals in Kentucky and Tennessee, Moser was selected as one of the chefs who represents the vanguard of the contemporary American dining scene.
Entertainment, food and drink
Entertainment during the downtown event will include a performance by Ben and Hillary. The duo is made up of vocalists Hillary Bevels who plays the fiddle, mandolin and banjo and Ben Ayer who plays the guitar, mandolin, bouzouki and tenor banjo.
The event will include a three course meal from locally sourced farms including wine from Beans Creek Winery in Manchester and beer from Old Shed Brewing Company based in Tullahoma.
