Winchester Wriggle starts tonight at 6

Pretty Discoveries Storefront for Winchester Wriggle — The front door of Pretty Discoveries, a business on the Winchester Square, is decorated for tonight’s Wiggle. From 6-8 p.m., the artistry of Sharon Prosser will be on display, accompanied by the music of Arheala Taylor. Everything in the store will be priced at 20 percent off during the hours of the Wriggle. Pretty Discoveries is one of 30 downtown businesses taking part in the second annual Fall Wriggle.

Those planning to attend tonight’s Winchester Wriggle, a music and art ‘crawl’ through Winchester’s historic downtown, are in for plenty of fun.

Some 30 businesses will be staying open late and hosting local artists, authors, musicians and musical groups, and there will be refreshments and promotions galore.

At 8 p.m. a section of Jefferson Street, across from the Franklin County Courthouse, will be closed to traffic so people can dance in the street to the music of Jackwagon.

This is the second annual Winchester Fall Wriggle presented by the Winchester Downtown Program Board and the Wriggle Committee. It’s sponsored by the City of Winchester, the Franklin County government, Beans Creek Winery and WalMart.

If you’ve driven through the Square you’ve probably noticed the fall decorations on street signs and even some of the businesses have decorated their front doors.

Besides the music, art, demonstrations and refreshments, there will be book signings and some great sales.

The Wriggle begins at 6 p.m. tonight and runs to 8 p.m. before the dancing begins.
